STAINLESS STEEL BRAIDED PTFE SMOOTH BORE HOSE
smooth bore PTFE hose.

features.

Ocelflex' Smooth bore PTFE Hose are designed with a uniform, smooth inner core, providing an exceptionally straight flow path for fluids and gases and ensuring minimum porosity. These non metallic hoses are available in long lengths upto 50 mtrs. Plain PTFE Hoses is excellent for applications in which minimum flexing or movement is required but better cleanablity is necessary.

To enhance mechanical strength and pressure handling, smooth bore PTFE hoses are typically reinforced with a high tensile stainless steel wire braid or additional reinforcements. This reinforcement allows the hose to withstand high internal pressures while maintaining flexibility for ease of installation in compact or dynamic systems.

Smooth Bore PTFE Hose, often referred to as Smooth Bore Teflon® hoses, offers maximum flow, along with average flexibility. It is plain and smooth from inside and outside, without convolutions. So it can be easily cleaned from inside.

Heavy gauge high tensile Stainless Steel wire is used for external braiding, which provides increased pressure rating and external resistance of the hose from corrosive chemicals.

Compared to convoluted PTFE hoses, smooth bore hoses are preferred where maximum flow efficiency, easy cleaning, and minimal particle entrapment are critical. They provide a reliable, long-lasting solution for industries that demand both performance and purity.

Ocelflex offer specialized Tafted or Tufted or Flared Smooth bore PTFE Hose end connections ensuring a single piece PTFE lining, no-contact of inner media with any metal surface and leak proof connections.

STAINLESS STEEL BRAIDED PTFE CONVOLUTED BORE HOSE
convoluted PTFE hose.

features.

As the inner diameter of Smooth Bore PTFE Hoses increase, the flexibility reduces. For particular smaller lengths the flexibility in larger diameters is very less. So for larger diameters, plain PTFE hose provides minimum flexibility, and behaves as a rigid pipe. In order to increase the flexibility, Convoluted PTFE hoses, often reffered to as Convoluted Teflon® hoses or Corrugated Teflon® Hoses, are preferred. Stainless Steel braided PTFE Convoluted hose consists of an inner sprial PTFE relatively thin walled convoluted tube and an outer reinforced braid.

The convoluted design enhances flexibility and kink resistance, reducing the risk of hose damage during operation. When combined with external stainless steel braiding, PTFE convoluted hoses can also handle moderate to high pressures while retaining their flexibility and structural integrity.

The outer reinforcement consists of multiple layers of fine stainless steel wires, precision-braided to enhance the hose’s mechanical strength and pressure handling capability. Based on the pressure requirements, Ocelflex offers single, double and triple braid reinforced Convoluted PTFE Hoses ( or Corrugated PTFE Hoses ).

Ocelflex offers a wide range of braid constructions over the Convoluted PTFE Hoses, including 24, 36, 48, and 96 carriers, using bright annealed and high tensile stainless steel wires for superior durability and consistency.

At Ocelflex, the inner PTFE tube is formed using a precision-controlled die and thermally processed to achieve a stable and uniform thickness structure. The helical convolutions, often referred to as corrugations, are specifically engineered to deliver maximum flexibility, even in shorter hose lengths or complex routing conditions.

Ocelflex' specially engineered and optimized convolution geometry with a wider pitch angle provide enhanced flexibility and cleanability, even for hoses with larger inner diameters or limited installation lengths, without compromising performance.

Ocelflex' tufted ( tafted ) or flared end connections incorporate a continuous PTFE liner, ensuring zero media contact with metal surfaces, making them ideal for high-purity and corrosive applications. We offer flared / tafted connections for all PTFE Hose variations including electrically conductive ( or anti static ) and vacuum PTFE hoses.

HIGH PRESSURE PTFE SMOOTH BORE HOSE WITH HEAVY REINFORCEMENT
heavy walled PTFE lined hose.

features.

Ocelflex' Heavy Walled PTFE Lined hose is designed with a thick PTFE lining of uniform thickness 3 mm to 8 mm and and outer heavy duty stainless steel braided flexible connector construction.

The PTFE liner is extruded outside the heavy walled PTFE Hose and flared or tufted, as a result of which the inner media does not come in contact with any metal surface. Outer thick walled stainless steel braided protection makes it ideal for applications in which the external environment may be corrosive.

Unlike other heavy duty PTFE hoses available in the market, Ocelflex' heavy walled PTFE Lined Hoses offer more flexibility and thermal compensation. The heavy walled PTFE Lined Hoses behave more like a rigid pipe in smaller lengths.

Ocelflex offers a wide range of braid constructions, including 24, 36, 48, and 96 carriers, using bright annealed and high tensile stainless steel wires for superior durability and consistency.

At Ocelflex, the smooth inner surface provides better cleanability and drain-ability, at the same time adequate outer PTFE Hose protects the assembly against external corrosive environments.

Heavy walled PTFE Hose is 100% leak tested and a cost effective solution for a wide range of applications in pharmaceuticals and chemical industries.

Flared / Tufted PTFE End Fittings

Flared PTFE Hoses (also commonly referred to as Tafted or Tufted PTFE Hoses) are engineered for high-purity applications where the conveyed media must remain entirely isolated from metallic components. By extending and folding the internal PTFE liner directly over the flange or fitting face, these assemblies create a continuous, chemically inert flow path.
In a standard assembly, media often comes into contact with metal hose tails or internal crimp collars. The Flared PTFE Hose design eliminates this by using a single-piece construction. The inner tube is extruded and then mechanically flared (turned back) over the fitting, ensuring a PTFE-to-PTFE sealing surface.
Advantages over standard crimped PTFE fittings :

Eliminates bacterial traps during usage

The seamless, joint-free transition eliminates "dead spaces" where particles or bacteria can accumulate. This makes it the gold standard for pharmaceutical and food-grade processes.

Maximizes flow benefits

Unlike standard fittings that restrict the internal diameter (ID) at the connection point, a Tafted PTFE Hose maintains a consistent ID throughout the entire assembly, minimizing pressure drops and turbulence.

Ensures leak free hose assemblies

Because the liner itself acts as the primary seal, the need for internal crimping—a common failure point—is removed. This single-piece architecture provides a reliable, gasket-free seal in many configurations.

Total Chemical Resistance

By ensuring the media only touches PTFE, the assembly remains 100% resistant to corrosive chemicals that would otherwise degrade metallic fittings.

Type of Hose which can be Flared / Tufted :

Smooth Bore PTFE Hose
Convoluted PTFE Hose
Heavy Walled PTFE Hose

The Tufted PTFE Hose is the preferred choice for industries demanding high-integrity fluid transfer, including:
- Biotechnology & Pharma: For sterile transfer of active ingredients.
- Chemical Processing: Handling aggressive acids and bases.
- Food & Beverage: Ensuring zero flavor contamination and easy sanitization.
