•   How to avoid damage to hose assembly?

Flexible hoses are designed to have a thin wall, which means that hoses should be handled with care once it leaves our facility. Once the material reaches your location it needs to be inspected for any damage. Special care needs to be taken during transit and at your warehouse to avoid damage to the hose. Post transit and storage, when installing a hose, it is essential to factor in the various points that can damage the hose and limit the service life. Below you will find the most common reasons to prevent a hose from being damaged :

    Overbending above the bend radius.
    Kindking of the hose.
    Preventing torsion on a hose.
    Sagging of a hose.
    Avoid Abrasive Influences subjected both internally and externally.
    Exceeding the rated specification limited by Ocelflex.

•   What is the Flexible Hose size range Ocelflex manufactures?

Ocelflex's Flexible Metal Hose size range :

    Inner Diameter : From 1/4 inch ( 6 mm or 6 NB ) to 18 inch ( 450 mm or 450 NB ).
    Length : Depending upon the Inner Diameter, upto 100 mtrs long.


Ocelflex's Flexible PTFE Hose size range :

    Inner Diameter : From 1/4 inch ( 6 mm or 6 NB ) to 6 inch ( 150 mm or 150 NB ).
    Length : Depending upon the Inner Diameter, upto 50 mtrs long.


Ocelflex's Flexible Composite Hose size range :

    Inner Diameter : From 1 1/4 inch ( 32 mm or 32 NB ) to 10 inch ( 250 mm or 250 NB ).
    Length : Depending upon the Inner Diameter, upto 20 mtrs long.

•   Can we use the hose at the maximum rated pressure rating?

There is a relationship between hose pressure and hose temperature that affects the safety of the hose. Although there is a safety factor, manufacturers do not recommend that you operate your hose at these conditions. The maximum rated pressure for a particular hose is tested at ambient temperature. •   According to which standard does Ocelflex manufacture Hoses?

    Our Metal Flexible hoses are manufactured as per DIN EN ISO 10380: Pipework-Corrugated metal hoses and metal hose assemblies.

    Our Composite Flexible hoses are manufactured in accordance with EN 13765 and EN 13766 : Thermoplastic multi-layer (non-vulcanized) hoses and hose assemblies for the transfer of hydrocarbons, solvents, chemicals, LPG and LNG.

•   Are Ocelflex's PTFE Hose suitable for food grade applications?

Because Virgin PTFE is FDA approved, PTFE hoses are approved food grade hoses used for the transfer and conveyance of food products such as dairy, seeds, beers and water. Our PTFE Hoses are non toxic and safe for consumption.

•   When does a hose need an internal liner?

For Metal Flexible Hoses, Interlock liners can decrease the turbulence posed by high speed, reduce the resonant vibration that may occur, and protect the thin sheet from being damaged.
The following could be reasons for using an internal liner in a metal hose :
    Liners are designed when the velocity of liquid or gas exceeds the maximum velocity without liner.
    When the inner media is abrasive in nature such as solid particles need to be transferred which can cause the thin walls of the flexible hose to be damaged.

For PTFE Flexible Hoses, the inner tubing can be extruded outside and flared over the end fittings. The entire inner lining will exist in a single piece.
    PTFE Flared Liners are designed so that the inner media does not come in contact with any other material apart from the PTFE tube.
